Zapp are delighted to announce that they have won a 2019 European Product Design Award, recognising the incredible design of the i300 Scooter.

Zapp’s innovative electric scooter was awarded a Silver in Transportation/Alternative Fuel Vehicles by the judges. The sleekly designed two-wheel vehicle has been a hit with both bike enthusiasts as well as those interested in electric vehicles and reducing their carbon footprint. The i300’s design reflects the forward-thinking attitude of Zapp, with Warin Thanathawee (Lead Designer), Swin Chatsuwan (Chief Executive Officer), Namkarn Munprasit (Technical Engineer Designer) and CORdesign Studio Co., Ltd. being recognised as the design team behind the scooter.

Recognising talented design teams

The European Product Design Award aims to ‘recognise the efforts of talented designers and design teams who aim to improve our daily lives with a practical and beautiful creation, designed to solve a problem, make life easier or simply spread joy’.

In their award entry, Zapp said of the scooter: ‘We have created the new design language for the next generation scooter and created a revolution in electric high-performance personal transportation. It’s simple – we offer scooters with style and relevance to urban lifestyles.

‘At Zapp, we always knew that urban commuting and getting to your destination quickly and efficiently was achievable through electric technology. We also knew that with the right design and engineering, it would be possible to bring high-end motorcycle performance to the scooter ride in a way that was fun and city-stylish, responsive to those with urban lives.’

This award proves Zapp’s dedication to the entire two-wheeled experience, as they hope to revolutionise both the design and performance of electric scooters. The award isn’t the first time Zapp has been recognised for their design initiatives. Both and Motorcycle News named Zapp’s i300 scooter as one of the best electric bikes to look out for in 2019.
